How to format Thingsee One's SD card?

Let's try to clean the SD card by following these steps. Start with the option that best describes your case:
Recommendation: Ensure that your device has some battery (wall charge it for at least 30 minutes) otherwise it will not switch on.

OPTION A - I can switch on my Thingsee One:

  1. Connect you device to the computer via USB-cable;
  2. Copy the CLOUD.JSN file to a safe place (this will prevent you from going through the process of registering your Thingsee One again in Thingsee Creator);
  3. Erase all the info from the SD card or use the format command;
  4. Eject and unplug your Thingsee One from the computer;
  5. Let Thingsee One restart;
  6. Once it has switched on please connect it again to the computer via USB-cable so that you can copy-paste the CLOUD.JSN file previously saved on step 2, to the SD card;
  7. Eject and unplug Thingsee One from the computer;
  8. Let Thingsee One restart;
  9. Now it should be ready to receive purposes over-the-air and to be normally used as before.

NOTE: If you haven't saved the CLOUD.JSN as instructed on step 2, you’ll need to register your device from the beginning in Thingsee Creator and create a new CLOUD.JSN file. It is in this stage where it is created the deviceAuthUuid and deviceAuthToken which are unique and saved on the CLOUD.JSN file.

OPTION B - My Thingsee One is frozen:

  1. Open your Thingsee One as instructed in the Thingsee One quick guide;
  2. Press the reset button. Please give a look at the picture to know where it is:
  3. If the device switches on, then connect it to the computer via USB-cable.
    (IF IT DOESN'T SWITCH ON, PLEASE MOVE FORWARD TO OPTION C);
  4. Copy the CLOUD.JSN file to a safe place (this will prevent you from going through the process of registering your Thingsee One again in Thingsee Creator);
  5. Erase all the info from the SD card or use the format command;
  6. Eject and unplug your Thingsee One from the computer;
  7. Let Thingsee One restart;
  8. While the device is restarting close it by screwing in all the six screws as instructed in Thingsee One quick guide;
  9. Once it has switched on please connect it again to the computer via USB-cable so that you can copy-paste the CLOUD.JSN file previously saved on step 4, to the SD card;
  10. Eject and unplug Thingsee One from the computer;
  11. Let Thingsee One restart;
  12. Now it should be ready to receive purposes over-the-air and to be normally used as before.

NOTE: If you haven't saved the CLOUD.JSN as instructed on step 4, you’ll need to register your device from the beginning in Thingsee Creator and create a new CLOUD.JSN file. It is in this stage where it is created the deviceAuthUuid and deviceAuthToken which are unique and saved on the CLOUD.JSN file.

OPTION C - I have tried option B and still my Thingsee One does not switch on:

  1. Extract the micro SD Card - Please give a look at the picture to know where it is - slide the SD connector upwards to open it;
  1. Use a micro SD card adaptor to connect it to your computer;
  2. Erase all the info from the SD card or use the format command;
  3. Eject and unplug the SD card from the computer;
  4. Insert the micro SD card to your Thingsee One's SD connector;
  5. Close the SD connector by sliding it downwards;
  6. Switch on your Thingsee One and confirm that it is working (if it doesn't switch on please contact Thingsee team for advice);
  7. Close it by screwing in all the six screws as instructed in Thingsee One quick guide
  8. Register your Thingsee One to your account in Thingsee Creator as a new device. You can delete your previous device so that you don’t have the same device twice.
